Data Management Update - New ideas for Standards for Transport operations

The AEF Data Management team is looking into additional use cases for transport operations. But some important elements are still missing. The elements and attributes to monitor a transport task were not in scope during the definition phase of ISO11783 Part 10. The team has new ideas and proposals for these requirements including the missing documentation. “We need additional functionalities within Part 10 for transport vehicles on the road and weighing systems at farms to have a valuable standard document”, says Hannes Schallermayer, team lead of the AEF Data Management team.

The team plans to work on future definitions how to map these processes in the data environment.
Existing standards used by the transportation industry could be the basis as well as the cooperation with AgGateway in the US.

It’s very important to have standards for transport in future, because this use cases becoming more and more common on farms and for contractors. Just as an example, statistically speaking, a tractor in Europe actually drives less than 50% of its lifetime in the field.

The team is increasingly looking for new members and companies like software providers that offer technology and offer telemetry/transport solutions.

Interested parties should contact the AEF Office (office@aef-office.org) and assist this great project.
