AEF General Assembly 2021

The 2021 AEF General Assembly took place in the afternoon of the 23rd of September and, just like the 2020 edition, was another virtual event, the only difference being that most of the Steering Committee members were all attending from the same location. The AEF Chairperson, Peter van der Vlugt opened the meeting and gave a summary of the AEF activities over the past 12 months as well as some interesting statistics regarding the AEF ISOBUS Database. The AEF vice Chairperson, Andrew Olliver, then spoke about one of the efforts to increase the number of certified products in the AEF DB by attracting new members to the AEF with the reduced membership fee special offer.

The AEF General Manager, Norbert Schlingmann, gave a good update on the activities in the different expert teams and the projects. It was quite surprising how much is actually going on in these teams during this virtual time.

AEF Treasurer and leader of the Finance Committee, Peter Hieronymus reported on the financial status of the AEF for 2021 and presented a budget proposal for 2022. He also spoke about the need to investigate alternative funding strategies for the AEF to address the prioritized projects in 2022.

Anita Sennett from the AEM was unanimously voted in as the new AEF Secretary due to the retirement of Mark Benishek at the end of 2020.

The meeting was closed by Andrew Olliver with the heart felt wish that the next General Assembly in 2022 will be a face to face event.
